Some of you are wondering what to get a couple of kids who have already grown up and purchased most of the household items one would usually get a young bride and groom. Nicole has also collected enough kick knacks to fill the Smithsonian, and as Matt dreams of having his own garage to put up his small collections of what not, he knows Nicole would just fill that up too.
So rather than being tacky and just asking for cash, we are registering at our home. You can buy us a nice, rarely used crock pot; a set of mostly matching silverware and plates from our kitchen; a like-new juicer (used it a whole week); another crock pot: couple of Cuisinarts --you get the idea....
Matt says you can actually keep most of the things you buy from us for us, but Nicole is afraid she can never replace that tin flower holder that is wedged into a corner because it'll fall over at the slightest breeze. We (and by "we", we mean "she") also have mystery boxes that have been moved from place to place and who the hell knows what's in them. Those will have special pricing.
What we're getting at is that we really don't need much. We won't stop anyone from getting us anything but if you need direction, we are hoping to go on a honeymoon in the fall and if you would like to be a part of that financially that would be wonderful.
There are a few things Nicole would like:
A handmade quilt (I'll try to find an example of what we, I mean, I would like)
Um..I can't think of anything else. But when I do, I'll be certain to post it here.
1/17....I'm still looking for the perfect quilt. I want it to be beautiful and interesting, but resistance to dog and cat misuse is of more importance. I'm gonna try my best to find one that meets all the criteria because a gorgeous, handmade quilt that has been destroyed by pets is going to make me want to send them off to a refugee camp.
And Matt came up with a couple ideas too:
Kitchen aid mixer- Blue (wait!! No! Nicole wants RED!)
Sheets of 5/8"or 3/4" plywood are always handy
Remote control helicopter
BMW Z3
Matt has just relayed to Nicole that he really wants a wok--but an authentic one, not the non-stick, Teflon, white-person kind (we're both in agreement that Teflon is a wretched product and prefer all pans without it...non stick is terribly overrated and is easily resolved with less chemicals and more oil).
Call dibs in the comments below so we can take items off the list.
Put our name on a Mystery box. $25.00. Keep the item but we'd like to find out what we bought you two! Also, I'm sure I can "scare" up a little something special that will be useful to you two!
