Climate: What to Know and Wear

The thing about where we live, if you aren't familiar with the High Country, is that it can be really hot during the day and really cold at night. The ranch is located at about 8000 feet (elevation) and they have a great FAQ page to get the gist of what you are getting into. A few other things we'd like to share are:

Wedding day Clothing

We want to see everyone out in their best and brightest on The Day, but keep in mind that the ranch is a ranch and the wind has a way of looking up skirts and playing with hair.  One idea is sewing in small weighted things (like washers) to your skirt so it doesn't blow up and show your girlie bits.

The other thing to remember is that we will be spending a lot of time outdoors with things like old fences, willows, dogs, and fire pits. So think about keeping a change of  outdoor-friendly clothes handy for the evening festivities. And remember to bring a coat because it can go from hot to cold as soon as that sun goes away.

Climate caution

• Drink water.  Drink the tap water at the ranch, it is better than any bottled stuff you can buy.
• Don't, however, drink the river water--you might be ok but you might get giardia and you don't want that.
• The greater in elevation change you travel, the easier it is to get drunk. 
• The greater the elevation, the less moisture and oxygen in the air.
• The less moisture and oxygen, the greater the hangover. 
• The greater the hangover, the less fun you have.
